Todd Senft
With over 30 years of experience in residential renovation and construction, Todd is an industry veteran and former Chair of the Homebuilders Association Vancouver(formerly GVHBA).
He brings his extensive expertise to every project, ensuring it is meticulously designed and seamlessly executed, winning numerous awards for renovation projects in the past. He holds a Certified Residential Professional designation and is a Licensed Residential Builder.
Todd has volunteered his time to the residential construction industry by serving in positions such as Chairman and Director on various organizations such as the Renovation Council -CHBA – BC, National Renovation Council and the Greater Vancouver Home Builders Association, now known as HAVAN.
John Kim
With a long background in structuring businesses and high-level governance, John’s role is to oversee quality control and efficient management of your project.
He has held c-suite and board positions in publicly listed companies and volunteers as a director for the not-for-profit Seton Villa Retirement Centre.
John leverages his management and financial acumen to precisely manage your project, ensuring complete transparency and minimizing any financial surprises.

Getting to Know Your Project
Before we begin, we want to understand your vision, requirements, and expectations for your kitchen renovation. Our team uses the skön Kitchens Information Gathering process during our initial contact to ensure we are aligned with your goals.
What to Expect:
- An initial call or email exchange to discuss your needs
- A few questions to determine the scope and scale of your project
- Discussion of your preferred timeline and any important deadlines
What We’ll Ask:
- What are your goals for the space? (e.g. more storage, open concept, updated style)
- Are there any must-have features or design elements?
- What’s your desired timeline for the project?
- Do you have a target budget in mind?
Tip: The more information you can provide at this stage, the better we can tailor our recommendations.
Site Visit & Consultation
After the initial discovery, we’ll schedule a face-to-face meeting at your home. This is our chance to see the space in person, review your ideas, and identify any technical or design considerations.
Our Process:
- We use our Skön Kitchens Site Visit Checklist to guide a thorough inspection of your kitchen.
- We’ll take measurements, photographs, and notes to ensure no detail is overlooked.
- This is an opportunity for you to show us inspiration images or samples you love.
We’ll Discuss:
- Your priorities and wish list for the new kitchen
- Any structural or layout challenges
- Your preferences for finishes, cabinetry, and appliances

Design & Budget Alignment
At this stage, we present a Concept Design Agreement outlining the proposed direction for your new kitchen.
You’ll Receive:
- Elevation Drawings: Visual representations of the new design
- Finish Selections: Suggested cabinet and countertop finishes
- Proposed Budget Range: A realistic estimate based on your goals and our initial discussions
Our Promise:
We work within the budget discussed at your initial meeting and keep you informed of any variables that could affect the final cost.
Note: The Concept Design Agreement ensures we are aligned before moving forward with detailed planning and construction.
Clear & Transparent Agreements
Once you’re happy with the concept design, we’ll arrange a dedicated meeting—either in person or via Zoom—to present the Skön Kitchens Renovation Agreement.
Why We Meet:
We believe it’s important to review the agreement together so we can answer your questions and address any concerns immediately. This approach avoids misunderstandings and builds trust.

- Final project scope and deliverables
- Payment schedule and terms
- Project milestones and estimated timelines
- Warranty and aftercare details
Important: We don’t send contracts by email until after the presentation, ensuring you always have our full support and clarity throughout the process.
Scheduling Your Renovation
After the contract is signed, we’ll reserve a construction slot for your project. This is your proposed start date, factoring in the time needed to coordinate our trusted suppliers and subtrades.
What You Need to Know:
- Quality takes time: We carefully plan each project to ensure smooth progress and outstanding results.
- You’ll receive a tentative schedule with key milestones and estimated completion date.
- We keep you updated at every stage as we approach your scheduled start.
Transparency: If there are any changes in scheduling (due to material availability, etc.), we communicate these proactively.
Precision Work, Minimal Disruption
When your project begins, our skilled renovation experts deliver precise, high-quality workmanship while minimizing disruption to your daily life.

Skon Design Build provides comprehensive 2-5-10 home warranty coverage to give homeowners lasting confidence in the quality of their new home. The warranty includes two years of protection for qualifying defects in labour and materials, including key systems such as plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
